Destination, Experience & Product Reviews
Whether a breathtaking archipelago in the Caribbean or the UK’s first cold-pressed energy juice, I can find the words to sing your brand’s song.
Blog Posts & Articles
Creating original content is a marvellous means to attract custom and interest to all your business endeavours. I am adept at devising interviews, blog posts, listicles and researched articles that are powerful, newsworthy and shareable.
Copywriting & Content Marketing
I partner with brands and companies to weave their stories to life with words. In big name Advertising Agencies (Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT) as well as directly with clients on a freelance basis, I have written full website texts, press releases, cover letters, profiles, posters, product descriptions, packaging copy, subtitles, slogans and taglines.
Through employment with a range of multinationals as well as an MA in Brands Communication & Culture, I have a developed understanding of the brand landscape. I have partnered with, as well as offered services to brands in fashion, finance, media, education, retail, travel and wellness.
Always wanted to write but not exactly comfortable with the ‘writing’ part? Has your business grown too fast and you’re stumped for time to write your own content? Let me flex my pen on your behalf. I just love it when there are well-written, witty words out there in the public forum; they needn’t have my name attached to them. I can keep a secret, if you can.
Public Speaking & Workshops
When I’m not gallivanting somewhere (or writing about it), I speak and offer workshops on (travel) writing, blogging, self-publishing and personal freedom.
Help is at hand for whatever degree of editing services you require for your book, academic article, report, proposal, web copy or blog. There are three distinct levels of editing, from light to heavy. If you’re unsure about the extent of editing your project requires, I’d be more than happy to discuss this with you. Editing rates are charged per word in Pound Sterling (GBP) and include two rounds of feedback.
Anyone who’s ever written anything knows that proofreading is crucial for a gratifying final draft. Proofreading is the final polish and last stage of the editing process where an editor lends their watchful eye over your grammar, punctuation, stylistic consistency, word usage and spelling. I’m allergic to typo’s – let me help you annihilate them.
Oh no! The main character starts off being called Christian but you refer to him as Edward in Part 2. Continuity errors diminish the credibility of your written work like no man’s business, and nobody wants that right? Copyediting or line editing examines consistency and continuity, clarity, flow, overused words and sentence structure. In a nutshell, it reviews whether your message is being effectively relayed, which ultimately, is your goal.
Also known as Substantive Editing, this is an in-depth look at the big picture of your work leaving no stone unturned. With your intended audience in mind, it’s an audit of general organisation, consistency of voice, readability, language issues, transitions, character development, marketability, major inconsistencies, plot holes and factuality. As such, additional research may be involved. Developmental editing ensures that all pieces of the puzzle really are intact.
The Editing Process
If you would like me to cast my eyes over your written work, please email me with the nature of your book, article or text, word count and where possible, attach the actual work to the message (Word format is preferred). Once we agree on rates, timings and the level of editing required, a 50% deposit is required and payment may be made by Transferwise (preferred), PayPal or bank transfer.
